The risks we see most
- Working at height: ladders, scaffolds, roofs and fragile surfaces
- Plant, vehicles and lifting operations
- Hazardous substances and dust, including silica and wood dust
- Asbestos in older buildings, where workers who could disturb it need awareness training
- Manual handling of materials
- Subcontractor management and site coordination
- Lone working and work in occupied premises such as homes, schools and care homes
The rules that apply
The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 apply to all construction work and set duties for clients, designers and contractors. Alongside them sit the Work at Height Regulations 2005, the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, COSHH, and the general duties to assess risks and provide training. The HSE enforces health and safety in construction.
Winning work: SSIP and pre-qualification
Many clients won't let you on site without SSIP accreditation from a scheme such as CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor or SMAS Worksafe. We prepare the policies and evidence and help you through the application and renewals. On a retainer, we keep that documentation ready all year.
How we help
- CDM 2015 support: construction phase plans, pre-construction information and client advice
- RAMS review and site safety inspections
- SSIP accreditation applications and renewals
